On September 18, our gallery in the Paula Brody and Family Education Center was alive with warmth and beauty as we celebrated the opening of Irma G: A Century of Hats and Spirit, a stunning photography exhibition by Leann Shamash, a longtime mikveh guide.
As Leann reflected on her mother’s life, and what it means to be seen, she reminded us that every person who immerses at Mayyim Hayyim has a story worth honoring.
If you weren’t able to join us last night, I hope you will visit Mayyim Hayyim to see the exhibition, which will be open until Sunday, December 14. I also hope you will make a gift to Mayyim Hayyim in honor of a significant elder in your life — a parent, grandparent, teacher, or mentor.
Your gift will ensure that everyone who walks through our doors is seen and valued in the fullness of who they are and who they are becoming.
Come see the exhibition. Bring a friend. Bring your mother, your aunt, your child. And join us in honoring the generations of people who inspire us to begin anew. You can visit during gallery hours or schedule a time with us. You can also support Mayyim Hayyim by purchasing a set of notecards from the exhibition.
