Mission

The Gallery @ Mayyim Hayyim is a dynamic, public expression of Hiddur Mitzvah, the rabbinic mandate to make Jewish life beautiful. A collaboration between Mayyim Hayyim and the Jewish Arts Collaborative, we select and display works of the highest quality and in a variety of media by artists of all ethnicities and religions.

We seek to:

  • Showcase the creativity of contemporary artists of all faiths
  • Provide a forum for the exploration of the role of the arts as an expression of Jewish life
  • Enhance the visual environment for those who come to immerse and for their families and friends
  • Serve as a laboratory for Jewish arts education
  • Build bridges of interfaith and multi-ethnic understanding
  • Invite people from the entire greater Boston community to visit Mayyim Hayyim

The Gallery @ Mayyim Hayyim co-sponsors exhibits with other organizations. Past partners have included: Project Kesher, Hadassah Brandeis Institute, Hadassah, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the Israeli Consulate in Boston.
