This week, we had the honor of hosting 10 inspiring young leaders from CJP’s Young Adult Leaders Haifa Delegation. It was a powerful visit that went beyond a simple mikveh tour. As the delegates explored Mayyim Hayyim, Bev Klau, Director of Programs and Partnerships, shared how we’ve reimagined this ancient ritual to be a place of healing, transition, and belonging for everyone.
The group, representing diverse grassroots leadership from across Greater Haifa, shared their own stories of community-building. We were struck by our shared values and a common passion for creating inclusive, vibrant organizations. This visit was a beautiful reminder that our work at Mayyim Hayyim is part of a larger, global movement.
Upon seeing the beauty of our mikveh, one delegate remarked that she wishes she could have a “do-over” of her pre-wedding immersion. She was amazed at the level of modesty guests have when immersing at Mayyim Hayyim. We were happy to recommend a member mikveh in our Rising Tide Network, Shmaya: A Mikveh for Mind, Body and Soul on Kibbutz Hanaton that shares our pluralistic values and belief that mikveh can be both meaningful and creative.
