Texture and Line
Works by Adrienne Shishko and Carol Baum

Painted canvas that appears three-dimensional. “Paintings” woven out of fabric scraps. Different in many ways, Carol Baum’s paintings and Adrienne Shishko’s fabrications ask your eye to “feel” what you’re seeing.

Adrienne Shishko works primarily with recycled materials in ways that highlight their unique qualities. In addition to the environmental benefit of recycling, many of the fragments she selects are autobiographical artifacts from her day-to-day existence – things she has touched, seen, admired, or read about.

Carol Baum’s work uses patterns of natural elements—flowers, leaves, constellations, and waterfalls. She explores the intersection between the inner world of spirit and feeling and the outer landscape, making connections between things she understands and things she doesn’t.

Presented in partnership with the Jewish Arts Collaborative
