Beneath the Surface for All: Fall 2024

Beneath the Surface for All is a one-of-a-kind b-mitzvah program for all youth and a parent or other important adult.  

This three-session Sunday afternoon program is an opportunity for youth and one of their parents or another important adult to explore the transition of becoming a b-mitzvah. Participants will share transitions and rituals separately and together. Each group will create a personal ritual to mark this unique time in their lives. 

We warmly welcome all youth, including those who are trans and non-binary. Adults of all genders are welcome to take part in this program with their child. Adults of any (or no) religious background who are raising Jewish child(ren) are warmly welcomed. 

The fall session is geared (but not limited) to families with b-mitzvah celebrations between December 2024 – September 2025 . The program will run November 3, 10, 17 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Mayyim Hayyim.

• Payment Information

  Registration fees cover expenses for expert facilitators and educators, supplies, food, and curriculum development. The cost to run this program is $450 per person. Registration is offered on a sliding scale to accommodate people of all financial abilities. In order to offer this program sustainably, we need participants to register at every level of the sliding scale, including those above the suggested amount. Please choose the registration level that is most appropriate for you based on your financial capacity.
