"Mayyim Hayyim showed me the way a well-organized institution should function. Its success lies in the enthusiasm of the employees, their commitment to success, and their responsible stances from fiscal concerns to logistical ones." - Rachel Renz, Yeshiva University, 2010, 2012

Mayyim Hayyim Seeks Interns for the Aliza Kline Internship in Jewish Professional Leadership

Join the most innovative and dynamic organization in the greater Boston area. Mayyim Hayyim Living Waters Community Mikveh and Education Center seeks savvy, motivated, self-starter undergraduate or graduate student interns.

Mayyim Hayyim houses two mikvaot (ritual baths), an education center and an art gallery and is located in Newton, MA, convenient to the Woodland MBTA Green Line stop. We are a resource for learning, spiritual discovery, and creativity where women and men of all ages can celebrate milestones like weddings and b'nai mitzvah; where conversion to Judaism is accorded the honor and dignity it deserves; where survivors of trauma, illness or loss find solace; and where women can explore the ritual of monthly immersion on their own terms.

The Aliza Kline Internship in Jewish Professional Leadership provides a unique opportunity to become an integral part of a small and industrious team of passionate professionals, where interns are given the opportunity for hands-on learning, professional development, training, and opportunities for reflection.

Projects are determined based on student interests and organizational needs. Possibilities include:

  • Working on annual major benefit event, including working closely with development staff, lay leaders, outside vendors and consultants, gift solicitation, volunteer recruitment and logistics, marketing and communications
  • Sharing the Mayyim Hayyim model with other communities around the country, encouraging the creation and support of like-minded mikva'ot
  • Managing the Mayyim Hayyim blog, web updates, social networking platforms and multimedia
  • Partnering with education staff on teaching opportunities
  • Grant writing

Interns will work a minimum of 15 hours per week. Dates are flexible and a stipend may be available.
