One hundred years ago, Mah Jongg took America by storm. Now it’s having another moment, and it’s your turn to join the fun.

Over three weeks, you’ll learn how to play American Mah Jongg, from reading the annual card to navigating the Charleston and building a winning hand. Along the way, we’ll also answer some of the game’s quirkier questions, like why the soap is a white dragon (except when it’s a zero).

No experience is necessary. This course is designed for complete beginners.

Three-session class. Sessions 1 and 2, learn how to play. Session 3, guided gameplay.
