For the very first time, we are offering a new edition of our wildly popular program, Beneath the Surface. While in the past, this has been a bat mitzvah program for mothers and daughters, this edition, Beneath the Surface for All, is a b-mitzvah program for all youth and their parents.
Beneath the Surface for All offers the unique opportunity for our Boston community to take part in trialing this program before it runs on a national level.
This three-session Sunday afternoon program is an opportunity for youth and one of their parents to explore the transition of becoming a b-mitzvah. Youth and their parent will share transition and rituals separately and together. Each group will create a personal ritual to mark this unique time in their lives.
As we launch Beneath the Surface for All, we warmly welcome all youth, including those who are trans and non-binary. Parents of all genders are welcome to take part in this program with their child. Parents of any (or no) religious background who are raising Jewish child(ren) are warmly welcomed.
The fall session is geared (but not limited) to families with b-mitzvah celebrations between November 2022 and April 2023. The program will run November 6th, 13th, and 20th from 3:00-6:00 PM at Mayyim Hayyim.
