Mayyim Hayyim's Beyond the Huppah seminar is a guide for engaged and recently married couples (0-5 years) that will provide tools to solidify a strong partnership and explore different ways of creating a Jewish home.

This is a five-session seminar held at Mayyim Hayyim on 5 Sunday evenings. 7:00 - 9:00pm: March 4, 18; April 1, 22, 29
-- Registration Deadline: February 29
-- Cost: $250 per couple
-- Engaged and newlywed couples from all backgrounds are warmly welcomed, including interfaith and LGBT couples.

Beyond the Huppah will be facilitated by Judy Elkin, M.Ed., PCC, ORSCC, who will be joined by expert guest teachers.

  • How can we learn to communicate even better than we do now?
Decision-making and Financial Management

  • How do we negotiate important decisions for our family honestly and respectfully?

Jewish Ritual
  • How can rituals in general and Jewish rituals in particular help strengthen our relationship?
  • How might we relate to the ritual of mikveh within our marriage, on our own terms?

  • How do we build and maintain a healthy sex life?
  • What does Judaism teach about sex in marriage?
Building a Jewish Family
  • How do we develop our identity as a Jewish family?
  • What does “a Jewish family” mean to us?
